In a recent print edition, Corriere dello Sport claimed that Arsenal are showing interest in AC Milan loanee Brahim Diaz, who is currently playing on loan from Real Madrid. It has been mentioned that the Gunners are eyeing a move to acquire the services of the Spanish sensation.

Diaz’s Campaign Of Mixed Emotions In Italian Football

Diaz is having an up-and-down season at the Milan club as he has struggled to be consistent with his offensive numbers so far. He has banged in five goals and earned two assists in 31 matches for the Italian outfit during this campaign on all fronts.

The Spanish sensation deserves a lot of credit for averaging 1.0 shots, 1.3 key passes and 1.0 dribbles per game in Serie A. Diaz has even been tidy with his ball distribution after completing 82.2% of his attempted passes in league football (stats via whoscored).

His current contract at his parent club Real Madrid is set to run out in the summer of 2025. Hence, the Gunners will have to make a sizable offer if they want to land him at the end of this campaign.

Should Arsenal Boss Mikel Arteta Get Diaz On Board?

Diaz is a decent dribbler with the ball at his feet and can cause a lot of problems for the opposition defenders. He has got the vision to engineer some clear-cut chances for his teammates in the final third and can strike the ball with venom and accuracy from long range. However, the Spanish sensation needs to work on improving his productivity in the final third if he wants to win more trophies at the highest level.

Arsenal could be an ideal destination for Diaz as he is good enough to fight for a regular starting spot at the North London club. He will no doubt offer some serious competition for Bukayo Saka and Martin Odegaard at the Emirates Stadium next season.

Thus, it makes sense for Mikel Arteta to go all out to get Diaz on board when the transfer window reopens later this year. He has previously tasted success in English football during his time at Manchester City and won’t take much time settling into life in North London if the Gunners can find a way to get a deal done for him in the summer.
