In a recent report, journalist Diego Firmino mentioned that Arsenal are keeping tabs on Palmeiras defender Luiz Benedetti. It has been stated that the Gunners are eyeing a move to bring the Brazilian centre-back to England in this summer transfer period.
Benedetti has come through the youth ranks of Palmeiras and deserves a ton of credit for breaking out as a first-team starter for them recently. The gifted youngster has already made nine senior appearances for the Brazilian outfit so far.
The 19-year-old has caught the eye at times with his performances in the Brazilian Serie A. He is currently among the best young defenders back in his homeland, so Arsenal would do well to bring him on board this summer.
Benedetti is under contract at Palmeiras until the end of 2029, which could make it tough for the Gunners to sign him on the cheap in this transfer window.

Benedetti is a good tackler of the ball and can sense the danger well to secure the ball back for his side inside his half. He usually puts his foot through the ball when the opposition are on the offensive and can use his towering 1.97m frame to win his fair share of aerial duels at the back.
However, the Brazilian defensive ace is still quite inexperienced at the highest level and would need time to prove his worth in English football. Still, the Gunners would be wise to snap up a centre-back of his potential this summer.
We can expect Benedetti to add more quality to Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta’s defensive department in the long run. He is already good enough to serve as a fringe player in the North London club’s match-day squad.
At 19, Benedetti has the potential to be a future star in the Premier League as long as he continues to develop with each season. He is undoubtedly a prospect to watch out for in the future. Therefore, the Gunners should consider going all out to bring him to the Emirates Stadium in this transfer window.
