In a recent report, journalist Steve Kay mentioned that Arsenal are close to recruiting Crystal Palace playmaker Eberechi Eze. It has been stated that the Gunners are eyeing a move to bring the English talent to the Emirates Stadium in this summer transfer window.
Eze had a great campaign at the London club in the previous campaign when he put in a run of eye-catching performances for them in the Premier League. The 27-year-old scored 14 times and earned 11 assists in 43 appearances for the Eagles last season across all competitions.
The English talent managed to shine with his contributions on the offensive end of the field as he averaged 3.48 shots per 90 minutes in the Premier League. He kept 27% of his attempts on target. Eze even distributed the ball well in the opponent’s half, based on his pass completion rate of 74.2% in the English top tier (stats via fbref.com).
His current contract at Selhurst Park will run out in the summer of 2027, which could make it difficult for the Gunners to sign him on the cheap this off-season.

Eze can shoot the ball with power from long range and has got the eye to play a few decisive passes on the offensive end of the field. He is a decent dribbler with the ball and can chip in by scoring and creating his fair share of goals up top.
The English sensation mainly operates as an attacking midfielder but can also function as a left-sided wide player if told to do so. He has already proven his worth in the Premier League and is well-equipped to make an immediate impact at Arsenal.
At 27, Eze is about to enter his prime, which makes him a great signing for the Gunners to pull off in this summer transfer window.
Eze would no doubt enhance the quality of Mikel Arteta’s frontline. He is good enough to nail down a regular first-team spot at the Emirates Stadium in the coming seasons. Therefore, Arteta would be wise to finalise a deal for the English talent in this transfer window.
