Arsenal have revealed that 23-year-old Martin Ødegaard has been appointed as captain of the men’s senior side.

The official announcement revealed that the Norway international had made a ‘huge impact’ since arriving at the Emirates Stadium from Real Madrid in January 2021.

Ødegaard has experience of wearing the armband, having led out Norway since March 2021, where he has made a total of 43 appearances.

The attacking midfielder has become a key component of Mikel Arteta’s side, having made 32 Premier League starts last season, scoring seven goals and weighing in with four assists.
