Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in signing out-of-favour Juventus attacker Dejan Kulusevski during the January transfer window.

The Swede is currently in his second full season with the Bianconeri. He has cut a frustrated figure with his lack of regular playing time under Massimiliano Allegri.

The Turin giants are open to sanctioning his sale at the turn of the year, and it is claimed that Spurs and Gunners could go head-to-head to secure his signature.

The Bianconeri could look to recoup the entire €35 million fee paid to Atalanta. Spurs may have the upper hand over the Gunners due to Fabio Paratici’s presence.

Paratici was the sporting director when Juventus signed him in January 2020. The Italian attempted to bring the Swede to Spurs during the last transfer window.

Our view:

Kulusevski started his career as a central midfielder, but he was transformed into a right-winger during his season-long loan deal with Parma.

The 21-year-old was terrific during the 2019/2020 campaign, bagging an impressive tally of 10 goals and nine assists from 36 league games.

Since his move to the Bianconeri, he has looked far from his old self. The Swede has not been helped with his lack of regular starts for the club.

He was restricted to 53 minutes per league game under Andrea Pirlo last term. This season has been worse, with 35 minutes per appearance under Allegri.

A new challenge would be ideal for him, and he could fit in the Premier League with his tireless work rate and versatility to play anywhere in attack or midfield.

Paratici will be aiming to lure him to Spurs after failing to do so over the summer, but the Gunners could also have a big say in the transfer pursuit.

They are currently mulling over Nicolas Pepe’s exit, who has gone out-of-favour under Mikel Arteta. His departure could pave the way for a new signing.
