Arsenal and Manchester United are reportedly keeping tabs on Juventus midfielder Weston McKennie, who has resurfaced as a potential Premier League target after overcoming a difficult period at Leeds United.

The 25-year-old American midfielder endured a disappointing loan spell at Elland Road last season, facing criticism for his performances as Leeds ultimately suffered relegation. However, McKennie has since revitalised his career back with Juventus, becoming a key contributor under Massimiliano Allegri, starting 24 of the 26 Serie A matches he’s been available for. He also has seven assists across those games (and six yellow cards).

His improved form has prompted Juventus to initiate contract extension discussions, though an agreement has yet to be reached.

According to Give Me Sport, McKennie remains interested in another chance at proving himself in the Premier League. Given the uncertainty around his Juventus future, a summer transfer seems possible, especially if his contract situation remains unresolved.

It’s suggested that Juventus could be willing to sell for a fee around £15m as he enters the last year of his current deal.

Give Me Sport reports that both Arsenal and Manchester United are interested in McKennie. The Red Devils are reportedly monitoring the situation as they embark on a new era under Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s potential ownership.

While Arsenal have reportedly prioritised Real Sociedad‘s Martin Zubimendi, McKennie could emerge as an alternative option should they miss out on the Spanish midfielder.

Aston Villa and Fulham, previously linked with McKennie, may also rekindle their interest.
