Arsenal and Juventus have reportedly set their sights on signing Atalanta’s promising 20-year-old striker, Rasmus Højlund.

The Danish international has been in impressive form this season, scoring 14 goals and providing five assists in 33 matches for the Serie A side. Recent international appearances for Denmark have further fuelled interest in Rasmus Højlund, with five goals in two matches this month.

Calciomercato reports that Juventus have identified Højlund as their top target to replace Dušan Vlahović if the Serbian striker decides to leave the club.

However, the Turin club will face strong competition from Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal, who are currently ‘in pole position’ to sign the Danish forward.

Højlund’s market valuation is estimated at €45m, but is expected to rise.

The Gunners have been scouting the young star, who joined Atalanta last August and has since caught the attention of several other European clubs, including Real Madrid.

Højlund began his professional career at Copenhagen, scoring five goals in 32 games before moving to Sturm Graz in Austria. He scored 12 goals in 21 games for the Austrian side before making the switch to Atalanta.

Arsenal have a plethora of attacking talent, including Gabriel Jesus, Eddie Nketiah, and Folarin Balogun. However, Højlund’s physical presence and goal-scoring ability could provide a unique option for the North London club.

Juventus and Arsenal will have to act fast to secure Højlund’s signature, as interest in the young striker continues to grow.

With both clubs reportedly ready to make significant offers, it remains to be seen which side Højlund will choose.

In any case, the battle for the talented Dane is set to be fierce.
