Arsenal have reportedly agreed a deal with FC Porto for the signing of attacking midfielder, Fábio Vieira.

The news comes via Portuguese journalist, Pedro Sepúlveda:

Translated, and without emojis, it says, “EXCLUSIVE. Fábio Vieira will be a @Arsenal player. There is already agreement between @FCPorto and #Arsenal.

“Value of the termination clause is 40 million euros.

“Fábio Vieira travels to London in the next few hours.”

It is not clear at this point if Arsenal have met the full release clause of €40m or if they have come to another agreement with Porto, and it should be noted that some in the replies to the above tweet are claiming that Vieira’s release clause is actually €50m.

This was then reinforced when Fabrizio Romano got involved with things:

The deal is reportedly a five-year one, according to Record in Portugal, who also note that Vieira is represented by Jorges Mendes.

His medical is expected to take place on Friday.

The 22-year-old is billed as one of the best young talents to have ever come through at Porto with comparisons being made with Bruno Fernandes, although those who have watched him regularly believe him to be a player who will become much, much better than the Manchester United man.

There has been little-to-no noise around this player nor any links to Arsenal prior to this.

Turning 22 at the end of May, Vieira is under contract until 2025 and scored seven goals, with 16 assists, in 39 games.

He is currently valued at around £22.5m with some saying even at €40m it would be a steal.
