Arsenal have accidentally confirmed the signing of Cristhian Mosquera during the announcement of Noni Madueke's arrival.

And a fifth signing is not too far away. Thanks to the possible slip of a website editor's finger, Arsenal inadvertently unveiled Mosquera in an Arsenal kit. The image appears to have been uploaded by accident during a batch release of Madueke imagery.

The image, which has since been deleted from Getty Images, shows Mosquera being interviewed by a member of Arsenal staff, seemingly during his traditional welcome interview for fans.

Mosquera arrived in London earlier this week after a deal worth an initial £13million was agreed with Valencia. The centre-back has undergone a medical and put pen to paper on a long-term contract.

The Spaniard, who can play at both centre-back and right-back, will replace Takehiro Tomiyasu after hte Japanese defender mutually agreed to terminate his Gunners contract after a string of injuries.

Speaking about his nightmare final years with Arsenal and his recent exit, Tomiyasu said: "It wasn’t a sudden decision to leave. First of all, I want to make it clear that my contract wasn’t terminated unilaterally, and I didn’t unilaterally say: ‘I’m leaving’.

“We had a proper discussion and came to the conclusion that: ‘This decision is best for me, for the club, and for everyone’. So I’m leaving. It all ended amicably.

“From my perspective, it’s the best timing. I’ll be free, and most importantly, the most positive thing about this decision is that it will allow me to focus on my rehabilitation and on myself.

“I was there for four years, but I only played five minutes in the 2024-25 season, and I spent a whole year in rehabilitation."
