Oleksandr Zinchenko was on the verge of unplayable in Arsenal‘s 3-2 victory over Manchester United.

The Ukraine international seemed to cover every blade of grass on the pitch, while his defending up against the skilful Antony was top notch.

During the second half in particular, Zinchenko turned moved things into a higher gear – and United just had no idea how to stop him.

On Sky Sports’ latest edition of Monday Night Football, Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher heaped praise on Zinchenko and basically labelled Arsenal as ‘unstoppable’.

At a point in his analysis of the epic encounter at the Emirates, he said: “I just want to highlight this fella here, because he played a role in a lot of these clips and caused a big problem for the midfield. Zinchenko I thought was the best player on the pitch. For me, he was the man of the match.”

There was one move in particular by Arsenal against United that perfectly illustrates Zinchenko’s impact on the team.

It came in the second half when, as we mentioned previously, the Gunners and their unique left-back really put United to the sword.

The move culminated in a great chance for the in-form Martin Odegaard, who saw his goal-bound shot met with a heroic block.

But while it didn’t result in a goal, the passage of play need to be appreciated to the maximum.

The football on show was the embodiment of ‘poetry in motion’ – and unsurprisingly, Zinchenko was right at the heart of it.

In the space of around a minute or so, the former Manchester City man popped up in about three to four different positions, making decisive contributions in each of them.

Zinchenko’s move to Arsenal and away from the vast collection of bona fide superstars at City has really helped the average football fan see just how special he is.

Not only has the slick operator brought a winning mentality to the squad, he’s also been arguably the key catalyst in the team’s on-pitch evolution.

If Arsenal go on to win the Premier League in his first season, Zinchenko will be well on the way to legendary status in the red half of north London…
