Arsenal’s Amario Cozier-Duberry has been nominated for the Premier League 2’s Player of the Month award after an impressive April.

Arsenal kick off the Premier League 2 play-offs on Friday night with a match against Manchester United in the last-16 stage, and Amario Cozier-Duberry’s positive recent form helped to set up that encounter.

Cozier-Duberry played four times in April, providing a goal and assist in a draw with Stoke, scoring in a draw with Blackburn Rovers, and scoring twice in a win over Liverpool.

Without the Arsenal u21 winger’s goals and assists, the team would have lost two of those fixtures and drawn another.

The Premier League 2 have recognised Cozier-Duberry’s form with a nomination for April Player of the Month, with the full shortlist as follows:

None of the other seven nominees provided more goal contributions than Cozier-Duberry, though Lankshear and Richards both matched the Arsenal man on five.

The Arsenal u21 squad are yet to win a Player of the Month award this season, but this is perhaps one of their best opportunities.

The public don’t get to vote on the winner, with the Premier League Football Development Panel making the final decision, which will be announced next week.

Amario Cozier-Duberry via Arsenal

Over the course of the season, Cozier-Duberry has 11 goals and five assists in 22 games for the Arsenal u21s (Premier League 2 and EFL Trophy) and the Arsenal u19s (UEFA Youth League).

In a poor Youth League campaign for the team, Cozier-Duberry earned Arsenal their only group stage win away to PSV Eindhoven, scoring the Gunners’ first and second goals in a 3-1 win.
