Arsenal star Bukayo Saka is unlikely to have any problems with signing a new contract at the Emirates, according to journalist Paul Brown.

The Gunners were trying to get the England winger to put pen to paper on an extension before the World Cup, and while nothing materialised, Brown is confident that there are no issues.

The Daily Mirror recently claimed that Arsenal are ready to treble Saka’s wages and make him one of the highest earners in the squad. It comes after manager Mikel Arteta hinted that the club were working hard on fnding a new agreement with their player.

The outlet states that the 21-year-old is currently on around £70,000 a week but is in line to receive £200,000 a week if he signs a fresh deal at the Emirates.

Arsenal’s desire for Saka to extend his stay in north London comes as no surprise, with the wide man being one of their best players this season.

Saka, who has less than two years remaining on his existing contract, has scored four goals and provided six assists in 14 Premier League outings so far (via Transfermarkt).

What has Paul Brown said about Bukayo Saka’s Arsenal future?

Brown has told GIVEMESPORT that he does not think Saka will have any doubts about putting pen to paper on a new Arsenal deal.

Speaking to GMS, the journalist said: “I don’t see any issues, really, with Saka’s future at Arsenal. He loves the club. He owes them quite a lot because he’s developed so well there. I understand he thinks it feels like home.

“I think he appreciates what the club have done for him, and I don’t really see there being a problem.”

Does Saka deserve to be a starter for England?

Easily. While he was not able to make much of an impact in the 0-0 draw against the USA, failing to complete a single dribble (via WhoScored), he was obviously very effective against Iran.

Again, the Arsenal man, who is valued at around £103m by the CIES Football Observatory, has also proven himself in the Premier League this season.

In short, Saka has been one of the best wingers in the top flight in the current campaign. Without him, the Gunners would probably not be at the top of the table.

If England are to go far in this year’s World Cup, then they probably need him in their team.
