Arsenal 0 Newcastle 2 – Thank goodness cheats don’t always prosper

My view at half-time: Arsenal are detestable.

They steal 10 yards or more at every throw-in; the ref does nothing.

They take 40 seconds or more over every corner; the ref does nothing.

They pull back our centre-forward off the ball on the edge of their box; the ref does nothing.

They barge Dubravka in the back as he tries to reach a corner; the ref does nothing.

Martinelli stamps on Livramento when he has won the ball; the ref gives Arsenal a throw.

Thank goodness Isak gave Odegaard a little nudge before scoring the opener from a Murphy assist. What’s sauce for the goose . . .

My view at full-time: Gordon’s second left-footed goal in four days in north London was just what was needed to frustrate Arteta’s mob.

Meanwhile, the referee penalised every questionable foul by United and booked Joelinton and Gordon after less than an hour.

Howe was brave with his tactics and brave with his subs.

His game management, giving Isak, Murphy and Willock 30 minutes off and Gordon 20 minutes of respite, was superb, as was the effort from every Mag, including the 6,000 in the crowd.

Arsenal, as many of their fans know, are all but toothless without Saka.

So much money spent, so little to show for it.

Public transport in London must be truly shocking, if the host of empty seats in the home sections long before the final whistle is any indication.

A last word on a shocking ref: he booked Livramento for taking less than 20 seconds over a throw in during stoppage time. What a plonker.
