Legendary former AC Milan coach Arrigo Sacchi feels that Inter are continuing their development and that they showed another dimension in yesterday’s Serie A draw away to Atalanta.

Speaking to Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport in an interview published in today’s print edition, the coach expressed his curiosity at how this Nerazzurri side will look when they take on Liverpool in the Champions League next month.

Inter have been tested plenty of times this season, with largely positive results against the top sides in Serie A while they will feel disappointed to have lost twice to Real Madrid despite highly encouraging performances.

In their first three matches back from the winter break the Nerazzurri have beaten Lazio and Juventus before having their eight-match winning run in Serie A ended by Atalanta who held them to a goalless draw.

Despite the failure to take three points from the clash, Sacchi was impressed by what he saw from the Nerazzurri on the balance of play.

“Inter didn’t seem tired,” he said, “they faced a very difficult team in the form of Atalanta who, despite their absences, always to play their game. Atalanta usually wins in Italy.”

Sacchi added that “I’m curious to see Inter against Liverpool because Liverpool will do what Atalanta did, albeit with different players. So it will be even more dangerous.”

“But in my opinion Inter are constantly evolving,” he explained, “I congratulate both coaches: it was an intriguing match, the viewer could hardly catch their breath and any mistake could be fatal.”
