Around 70k fans from 114 nationalities expected at San Siro tonight for Milan-Udinese, average age of 32 in the stands | OneFootball

Many fans are ready to support the Campioni d’Italia this evening.

After a long summer, today the Champions of Italy step onto the pitch of the San Siro to kick off the 2021/22 season.

The Rossoneri play Udinese at 18:30. As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport this morning, Milan fans have bought around 30,000 tickets for the game, which are added to the 40,000 season ticket owners.

So it total there should be around 70,000 fans at San Siro tonight, a bit less taking into account that many Italians are currently enjoying their August in vacation and are not in Milano. In fact, Milan have not had over 60k fans at the stadium for the seasonal San Siro debut since 2009, and at that time it was on August 29 – and it was the Derby della Madonnina against Inter.

The people in the stands will be relatively young. The prediction is an average of 32, with over 12,000 Under 20 fans, and from 114 nationalities. The main ones are from France, Switzerland, Germany, Great Britain, the Netherlands, Poland and Belgium. From Belgium, there will of course be Isabelle and Jozefien Van de Velde, the mother and girlfriend of Charles De Ketelaere respectively.

Everything is almost ready for the start of the season. The many fans at San Siro will hope to see last season’s Scudetto winners win their first match of the season. Now it’s up to Pioli and the boys.
