Arne Slot tells TWO first-team rivals they are free to LEAVE

Liverpool’s head coach Arne Slot has made a surprise decision over first-choice goalkeeper Alisson Becker.

Since joining the Reds from Roma in 2018, the Brazilian goalkeeper has won it all at Anfield over the course of the past six years. Unfortunately however, he also has a surprising injury record, currently suffering with a hamstring issue sustained in October.

In the time since, Caoimhin Kelleher has assumed the starting spot and there has been no noticeable drop in quality. Likewise third-choice Vitezslav Jaros was very impressive in his cameo against Crystal Palace and the League Cup tie against Brighton.

Despite all of this positivity around Liverpool’s goalkeeping department, the arrival of Giorgi Mamardashvili next summer is sure to ruffle some feathers. The Georgian shot-stopper is widely regarded as one of the best up-and-coming goalkeepers in world football, and therefore Arne Slot has a tough decision to make.

Indeed, according to a new TBRFootball report penned by journalist Lucas Arnold, Liverpool are open to selling both Alisson AND Kelleher next summer at the same time as Mamardashvili’s proposed arrival.

This is not to say the Reds will actively try and sell the pair, but more likely will be more open to any approaches than they were this past summer.

Alisson and Kelleher future in DOUBT

Speaking of transfers, during the summer Alisson had offers from Saudi Arabia and there has been talk of a return to Roma, although he decided to stay on Merseyside for the time being.

Kelleher was less keen on staying with Liverpool, as he expressed several times both publicly and privately his desire to leave Anfield and carve out a career elsewhere as a first-choice goalkeeper.

Kelleher will reportedly be allowed to leave next summer in any case, but it is the suggestion that Arne Slot has already made his decision as to who will be number one with Liverpool from next season on, and it look’s like Alisson’s days starting for the Reds are numbered.
