Arne Engels and Luke McCowan delighted to get off the mark for Celtic | OneFootball

Both Arne Engels and Luke McCowan could be pleased with their contribution in the 2-0 win over Hearts today (Saturday).

The Belgian midfielder produced a Man of the Match performance, and opened the scoring with a coolly-taken penalty early in the second-half – his first goal for the Hoops

And McCowan came off the bench and also netted his first goal for his bhoyhood club to make the points secure for the Champions and ensure that it’s five league wins out of five for Brendan Rodgers’ side.

Juts for good measure, the clean sheet means that this team is the first Celtic side since 1906 to not concede a goal in their opening five league fixtures, an impressive achievement in itself.

Speaking to Celtic TV after the game, the two goalscorers were clearly delighted with how the afternoon had gone.

Arne Engels said: “It’s an amazing feeling and to get the win at home.

"It wasn’t an easy one because we didn’t score in the first-half, but we stayed calm and we knew the chances would come and that we would score. So I’m happy for the team and that’s the most important thing.”

Luke McCowan said: “The amount of chances we create, we know we’re going to score goals, and getting a second goal means it’s nice to have a wee cushion there.

"It was special to score. I had some family here today, hoping that I’d get on, and to make it even better, I came on and got a goal, so it is a special feeling for me."
