Girona are looking to get some last-minute business done on transfer deadline day as they seek to secure the services of Villarreal attacker Arnaut Danjuma on loan before the window slams shut.
As per Marca, the 27-year-old is set to have a medical ahead of his move to Montilivi, which would be a season-long loan deal.
The Dutchman has had a good start to the season, scoring twice in his first three games for Villarreal in La Liga.
The move is likely taking place due to the wide range of attacking reinforcements that Marcelino’s side have brought in, and a fear that this could lead to a lack of minutes for the striker.
With Villarreal having signed Thierno Barry, Nicolas Pépé and Ayoze Pérez, there could be some strong competition in attack at La Cerámica this season.
Girona have until midnight to get this move across the line, if they want to see Danjuma playing his football at Montilivi in the weeks to come.
The move would also see Danjuma return to the Champions League, having played for Club Brugge, Villarreal, and Tottenham Hotspur in the competition in the past.
