Without a win in seven league games, Arminia Bielefeld have parted ways with head coach Frank Kramer.

With just four games left in the season, Bielefeld’s top-flight status hangs in the balance. The club are currently in 17th spot and three points off Hertha Berlin in 15th.

Kramer was in charge of Bielefeld for just over a year and managed to keep them up last season. However, this campaign his side have struggled to keep up points.

In a club statement, Bielefeld sporting director, Samir Arabi said: “Frank Kramer managed to stay up in the league with the team last year. Nobody will ever take this success away from him. After a bumpy start to the season, we came out of the crisis very successfully together, but were recently unable to retrieve this form.

Marco Kostmann will take the role of head coach until the end of the season.
