San Jose Earthquakes star Hernán López looks all but set for a move to Argentinos Juniors according to MLS insider Tom Bogert.
The 24-year-old was the MLS club's record-signing last April for $6m, but is perhaps deemed surplus to requirements after a busy winter transfer window.
López has scored nine goals in 37 MLS games, but only recently recovered from a shoulder injury that saw hime miss seven games in the 2025 season.
Notably, the attacker is the nephew of legendary footballer Diego Maradona, who started his career at Argentinos Juniors, and currently has the stadium named after him.
Reports suggest he will join the Argentine club on a loan with an obligation to buy.
