Inter Milan captain Lautaro Martinez is on the brink of Champions League history ahead of Bayern Munich’s visit to the San Siro.
Per Corriere dello Sport via FCInterNews, El Toro can draw level with Samuel Eto’o in a prestigious category.
Lautaro Martinez already made club history in the Champions League this season.
Indeed, he surpassed Sandro Mazzola’s record to become Inter’s all-time leading goalscorer at Europe’s top table.
Last week, he netted his seventh goal in this season’s edition as the Nerazzurri beat the Bavarians 2-1 in Munich.

Samuel Eto’o tallied eight Champions League goals during Inter’s iconic treble-winning campaign in 2009/10 under Jose Mourinho.
Meanwhile, Hernan Crespo’s nine-goal haul from 2002/03 stands out as the highest single-season tally by an Inter player.
However, sitting only two goals shy of that benchmark, Lautaro has a golden opportunity to write another chapter in his legacy.
Therefore, with Bayern set to visit the San Siro, all eyes will be on the 27-year-old goal-getter.
