The departure of Lautaro Martinez from Inter Milan isn’t considered an impossible scenario, with PSG emerging as a feasible destination.
The Argentine cemented himself as the club’s ultimate talisman this season. He also inherited the captain’s armband last summer.
Therefore, the Nerazzurri have been keen to extend his contract, pushing back the deadline from 2026 to 2029.
Last March, the Italian champions thought they had an agreement in principle with the player’s agent. The two sides met in Madrid ahead of the Champions League clash against Atletico.
However, the agent, Alejandro Camano, has raised his demands much to the dismay of the Inter directors.
So according to Tuttosport via FcInterNews, an important meeting will take place between the two parties in the coming days.
But if Inter cannot find a swift solution with Camano, the source doesn’t rule out a summer sale.
After all, the Nerazzurri wouldn’t want to lose their leverage over the situation. At the moment, selling Lautaro would yield a large transfer fee.
But in a year’s time, his value will significantly decrease as the contract’s deadline approaches.
However, finding a buyer could be a complex affair, even if the striker has admirers on the continent.
As the Turin-based newspaper explains, Real Madrid should land Kylian Mbappe, so they won’t have a place for a new striker.
On the other hand, Barcelona could use someone like the Argentine. Yet, the Catalan giants lack the financial resources to seal the deal.
Therefore, Paris Saint-Germain could be the only plausible destination at the moment.
The Ligue 1 champions have lost the services of Mbappe, so they’re searching the market for a top-notch striker to replace the French superstar.
