It has been an exciting month so far for Argentine youth prodigy Franco Mastantuono.
The River Plate youngster made history by becoming the youngest player to ever represent Argentina. Now he appears to be on the verge of joining Real Madrid.
Although the move is yet to be confirmed, Fabrizio Romano has already given his customary ‘here we go’ for the deal and it may only be a matter of time before Real Madrid announce the arrival of the young attacker.
In the wake of recent reports, Argentine head coach Lionel Scaloni was notably asked about Mastantuono’s potential move to Real Madrid.
Reacting to the question, Scaloni sounded rather elated, even labelling Real Madrid as the best club in the world.

“If it happens, it’s huge. Going to Real Madrid is gigantic, we’re talking about the best club in the world or one of the best,” he said (h/t Roy Nemer).
Mastantuono went on to heap praise on Mastantuono, reminding everyone that he is still only 17, with limitless potential.
“If he continues like this, with that desire and that mindset, he’ll surely do well. We need everyone around him to know that he’s a 17-year-old kid,” he said.
These words from Scaloni could serve as a real confidence booster for Mastantuono as he looks to kickstart a new chapter in his career at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Recent reports indicate Mastantuono’s release clause at Real Madrid could be worth a whopping €1 billion, which suggests that the club are truly banking on the Argentine to make a long-lasting impression.
Real Madrid have historically taken some excellent bets in the South American market, with Vinicius Jr., Rodrygo and Federico Valverde being perfect examples. There is no reason why Mastantuono can’t follow in their footsteps.
