Argentina have announced their initial 35-man squad for this summer’s World Cup.
Jorge Sampaoli’s men have been drawn in Group D alongside Nigeria, Croatia and Iceland, and face the first-time participants in their opening match on June 16.
All the big names have been included on the long-list including Mauro Icardi, Ángel Di María, Gonzalo Higuain and Lionel Messi.
Sergio Agüero has all been named despite suffering from a knee injury in recent weeks.
Two men who perhaps will be disappointed are Paris Saint-Germain forward Javier Pastore and Tottenham’s Erik Lamela – especially after his hat-trick on the final day of the Premier League.
Javier Mascherano will also travel, despite leaving European football last summer for China.
Argentina, along with all the other nations playing this summer, have to name their final 23-man squads by June 4.
