Leeds United are continuing to richly benefit from having Archie Gray at their disposal.
Starting the season in central midfield when the Whites were short of options in this department, the 18-year-old has also impressed at full-back and that reinforces just how much of an asset he has been at Elland Road.
It could definitely be said that he is one player who has benefitted from the Whites’ relegation, with departures allowing him to secure a place in the first-team squad.
Doing enough to retain his place in the starting lineup, the teenager has been able to secure plenty of senior football under his belt this term and has impressed in the process.
Luckily for Leeds, he is tied down to a contract until the summer of 2028, which has put them in an extremely strong position ahead of the summer transfer window.
However, it remains to be seen whether they can prevent his departure, with several clubs now taking an interest in the England youth international.
We have rounded up some of the latest news on the teenager below.
According to HITC, Real Madrid have been keeping a close eye on Gray.
Having already got Jude Bellingham on their books, they are seemingly keen on another talented Englishman, although it remains to be seen whether they make a move for him.
Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich are also thought to have taken an interest in the 18-year-old ahead of the summer.
The German outfit, along with Madrid, watched the player in action against Hull City on Monday night, according to the same HITC report.
They are both described as being “long-term admirers” of Gray, whose talent was known well before the start of the season.
Premier League outfits Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur both remain keen on the Leeds star, as per a report from Football Insider.
The 18-year-old attracted “significant” interest during the January transfer window and it looks as though similar is set to happen during the summer, if he can remain fit.
It’s difficult to judge whether a move to Anfield would be a good one, with Jurgen Klopp leaving at the end of the season, but a number of young players have shone on Merseyside before.
Harvey Elliott is one key example, with Fabio Carvalho also getting game time before being sent out on a couple of loan spells.
The Whites aren’t planning to cash in on their young star anytime soon.
That’s according to HITC, who have reported that Leeds are hoping their potential promotion to the Premier League could help them to fend off interest in his signature.
Currently in the mix to secure automatic promotion, they are in a good place but even if they don’t seal a top-flight return at the first time of asking, Daniel Farke’s side will still be in a strong position to demand a huge fee for him.
This is because, as already mentioned, his contract at Elland Road doesn’t expire until the summer of 2028.
