Fabrizio Romano reports that although Arsenal don’t have an agreement over personal terms with Houssem Aouar just yet, they are in contact with the player’s representatives.

The 22-year-old would like to join a Premier League club and sees Arsenal as a good option. But at this stage, there are still no formal negotiations between the two clubs, as Arsenal need to sell first.

“Lyon are asking for €60million, so it’s complicated,” Romano told the Here We Go Podcast (via Independent). “But the player would be ready to join the Premier League, would be ready to join Arsenal. But for now there are no negotiations.

“In July, they offered Guendouzi as part of the deal and they didn’t find an agreement. Now it’s up to Arsenal. If they sell players, I am convinced [they will bid again].”

Among those up for sale at the moment are the likes of Sead Kolasinac, Sokratis Papastathopoulos and Lucas Torreira, according to Romano.

There are also rumours circulating around Calum Chambers, Mohamed Elneny and Shkodran Mustafi, but nothing is close yet.

The end of the transfer window is approaching fairly quickly now. The non-domestic deadline is just 11 days away on October 5th. Arsenal really need to get moving on sales if they want to have time to agree on any new signings before then.
