Manchester United are looking at moving players on in January to raise money for incomings with the club currently languishing in 14th position in the Premier League table.
Ruben Amorim is desperate for attacking reinforcements with United failing to score in their last three league games and have scored fewer goals than Leicester City, who are 19th in the table and favourites to go down.
Rasmus Hojlund still does not look ready to lead the line for the Red Devils while Marcus Rashford has declared his intention to leave his boyhood club.
However, it will not be easy to find the Mancunian a new permanent home in January owing to his price tag and humongous wages. Joshua Zirkzee is another forward who has been linked with an exit but the Dutchman wants to stay and fight for his place.
In case, the duo cannot be moved on in the winter, United have earmarked Antony as someone who can be let go with Amorim only handing him two starts since his arrival, with only one of them coming in his favoured right wing role.
No league starts have arrived under the Portuguese and as recently relayed by The Peoples Person, there is loan interest from Real Betis but the 20-time English league champions would prefer a permanent solution.
Hence, as revealed by CaughtOffside, the club have been offering the Brazilian’s services all across Europe and even in England.
Antony’s former club have been offered the chance to sign the Brazilian while Newcastle also receive a surprise mention. Juventus and Benfica are also among the clubs offered the chance to sign the 24-year-old.
Both Ajax and Juventus are only thinking about a loan deal at the moment and therefore, Real Betis might offer United’s best chance at earning a decent fee from his sale.
“Sources indicate that Real Betis are interested in signing Antony on loan in January with an option to buy and have offered Man United a proposal that would cover a small part of his €12m-a-year salary.
“Antony is believed to like the idea of playing in Spain but wants to understand all his options before deciding on his future.
“Ajax, Juventus, Benfica and Newcastle United have all been offered the chance to sign Antony ahead of the January window, with Ajax and Juventus said to be open to a loan deal; however, none of the duo have made an official offer for the Brazilian star.”
The Erik ten Hag recruit has been a huge disappointment for United and they will surely take a huge hit on their initial £82 million investment.
He does not possess the requisite pace and physical prowess to play in England and in Amorim’s system and INEOS would do well to earn more than his current market value of €20 million.
