Antony is one of four Manchester United players in Brazil’s 26-man squad for this winter’s World Cup and the 22-year-old made his maiden appearance in the tournament earlier this week.

Antony was a second-half substitute in Brazil’s comfortable 2-0 win over Serbia but with an early group decider against Switzerland coming up, the tricky winger has missed their latest training session.

That’s according to Brazilian journalist Isabelle Costa, who says that Antony is one of several Brazil stars to miss out on training – a huge blow to manager Tite, who is already battling an injury to talisman Neymar.

Antony missed United’s last five games in all competitions before the World Cup but Erik ten Hag refused to confirm what type of injury he had sustained.

It remains to be seen whether Antony recovers in time for their game against Switzerland next week.
