Antonio Rudiger swapped Chelsea for Real Madrid in the summer as he went in search of a new challenge for his career.
After a successful spell in west London, the towering defender was quickly snapped by the La Liga superpower as they looked to add to the stacked squad.
He would prove to be quite the bargain as well, with Madrid, known for going above and beyond when it comes to transfer fees, snapping him up in a free deal.
The German international, who had been knocking on the door for the title of the bet centre-back in the world quickly put pen to paper at the Bernabeau and has looked right at home in his new surroundings.
Rudiger has slipped right into the fold amid a gaggle of superstars now wearing the famous white shirt with Carlo Ancelotti on the cusp of creating yet another European dynasty.
However, the fact that Rudiger is even considered one of the best defenders in the world is often a reason for football fans to giggle.
The German has become famous for the rather ungainly, and sometimes truly bizarre ways in which he goes about his business on a football pitch.
During Madrid's clash with Girona on Sunday evening, his infamous sprinting style once again came to the fore with fans quickly flooding Twitter with remarks about how strange it is.
It is worth noting, that while Rudiger's sprint does always induce a laugh, he is absolutely rapid and the foot race in question quickly became somewhat of a non-contest.
You can check out Rudiger being typically, well, Rudiger, in the clip below:
Why are you like this, Antonio?
Be it boredom or genuine confidence in his own ability, the football world is better for having Rudiger in it.
It proved to be a tough afternoon for the men in white as they were forced to settle for a frustrating draw.
They looked as though they might get away with one after Vinicius Jr grabbed the lead midway through the second half but defending that lead proved too tall an order.
Toni Kroos was later sent off - slapped with his first ever career red card - in stoppage time on what would ultimately prove to be an evening to forget for Madrid
Still, at least Rudiger was having his fun at the back.
