Antonio Rudiger breaks silence on his Chelsea contract situation | OneFootball

Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger has gone through a massive renaissance at the club since Thomas Tuchel took charge back in January.

He pretty much went from most of us fans doubting whether he would be good enough to be at the heart of this Chelsea defence, to us all demanding that the club now get him signed to a new long term deal. The difference has been THAT big.

He has become an indispensable member of Tuchel’s starting line and and arguably one of the most important players on the pitch for Chelsea right now.

But unfortunately, the problem looming is the fact his contract runs out next summer and he will be free to sign a pre-contract with a new club from January onwards.

Chelsea are talking to him about a new deal, but there has been rumours of other interested clubs.

But as reported by Sky Germany, Rudiger claims he has not spoken to any other clubs.

“For me,” said Rudiger, “this will now be the most important decision of my professional career”. Personally, I have never spoken to any other club than Chelsea.”
