Stability is key for Antonio Conte as he begins to lay his foundations as our new Head Coach.

Appointed on Tuesday last week, Antonio has already presided over two games - a vital victory over Vitesse in the UEFA Europa Conference League just two days after his arrival, and a hard-fought, gritty goalless draw in the Premier League against Everton at Goodison Park on Sunday.

There were positive signs for Antonio as he headed back south from Merseyside. “It’s important for this team to become solid, especially to show you are a stable team, not up and down, because usually when you are up and down, it means you are a crazy team, and I don’t want this. I want stability.

“Stability and offensively, to be dangerous, to create many chances to score. Today (Sunday), we made many mistakes with the last pass and the last decision, and the last pass can give you the opportunity to score, or to take a counter-attack.

“We made many mistakes in this aspect, but I also understand that many players were also tired after the game against Vitesse, we played with the same starting 11 because I wanted to have a bit of stability with the team.

“Now, we need to work. We need to improve step by step the physical condition because if you want to bring intensity on the pitch for 95 minutes, we need to improve in an important way our physical situation.”
