Antonio Conte’s Inter are picking up points almost as relentlessly as Giovanni Trapattoni’s legendary title-winning team, a report in the Italian media highlighted tonight.

The Nerazzurri secured their 11th straight win in Serie A yesterday with a hard-fought 1-0 victory at home to Cagliari.

As per Sky Sport Italia (via FcInter1908.it), Conte’s Inter have a staggering points-per-game average of 2.46 this season (74 points in 30 games), following their incredible league form since the end of January.

If Trapattoni’s team which won Serie A (in the 1988-89 season) had been playing in the three-points-per-win era, they would have had an average of 2.47.

Roberto Mancini’s team in 2006-07 (2.55 points per game) is the only other side in Inter’s history who had a higher points average than Conte’s Inter this season.

Conte has already surpassed Jose Mourinho’s treble-winning team from the 2009-10 campaign, which finished the Serie A season with an average of 2.15 points per game.

Mancini’s 2007-08 side is fourth on the all-time list with 2.23, while Mourinho’s first Inter in 2008-09 finished with 2.21.
