Antonio Conte has been installed as Napoli’s new head coach following a tumultuous Serie A defence.

The Partenopei’s long-awaited Scudetto procession crumbled last season amid a high turnover in the dugout.

Rudi Garcia lasted barely four months before Walter Mazzarri and later Francesco Calzona took the reins.

Conte succeeds Calzona, who combined his role with duties at the helm of Slovakia’s national side, after signing until 2027.

“Napoli is a club of huge importance on the international stage,” said Conte.

“I’m happy and excited by the idea of taking my seat in the Napoli dugout. I can certainly promise one thing: I’ll give my all to develop the team and the club.

“I’m fully committed to the task at hand, as are my staff.”

Conte returns to Serie A after leaving in 2021, joining Premier League side Tottenham following Inter’s first title since 2010.

In total, the 54-year-old has won five Scudetti across spells with the Nerazzurri and Juventus.
