Sunday afternoon's meeting between Chelsea and Tottenham started with a handshake between managers Thomas Tuchel and Antonio Conte.

That was about as amicable and respectful as it got at Stamford Bridge as the Blues were left to rue missed opportunities, refereeing mishaps and a 96th-minute equaliser from Harry Kane.

All throughout the action - during which Kalidou Koulibaly opened the scoring - Tuchel and Conte were animated on the touchline, barking instructions to their players before a full-blown confrontation in the aftermath of Spurs' first equaliser from Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.

Conte appeared too fired up for Tuchel's liking and the German responded when his side again took the lead, sprinting past the Spurs dugout in celebration of Reece James' strike which appeared to have won the game for Chelsea.

Kane's header, however, ensured the game was drawn 2-2 and the points shared. At the full-time whistle, the two managers again came to blows and both ended up being sent off by referee Anthony Taylor.

The pair each made light of the incident in their post-match comments, but Conte has since posted on Instagram with the message: "Lucky I didn't see you...making you trip over would have been well deserved...😂😂😂"

The Football Association is likely to look into the game to see what misconduct took place. With the pair being sent off, they are likely to be suspended for Chelsea and Tottenham's games against Leeds and Wolves next weekend respectively.
