Inter manager Antonio Conte can become just the third manager following Inter’s historic treble winning season in 2010 to break the 70 point barrier according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

Inter are sitting on 68 points after 32 games played of the 2019/20 Serie A season and could go up to 71 points if they are to succeed against bottom placed SPAL later on today.

Should Conte do it, he will join Leonardo and Luciano Spalletti in managing to exceed the 70 point mark. Leonardo picked up 76 points whilst Spalletti picked up 72 points in his first season in charge at the club.

Former Italian national team manager Conte could well exceed Leonardo’s tally given after tonight’s match in Ferrara there are still five games to play and therefore 15 more points up for grabs. Inter have fixtures with Roma, Fiorentina, Genoa, Napoli and Atalanta still to come.

The report highlights that Inter’s current points total is the most points Inter have had at this stage of the season since the 2008/09 season, Jose Mourinho’s first in charge, when they had 74 points.
