It’s crunch time for Rangers on Tuesday as the club takes on PSV Eindhoven in the first leg of their Champions League playoff.

Ahead of the clash, centre-forward Antonio Čolak opened up on his confidence, goals, and more. Here is what he had to say.

“When you hear the Champions League anthem, it’s one of the biggest things,” he said. “We are two games away from the dream, everyone is prepared and want to give everything to reach the group stage.”

“We’re really confident. We’ll play the first leg at home in front of our fans at Ibrox, that gives us a big push.

“We are two games away from the group stage, we’ve come a long way, and everyone must be aware of how close we are. As a team, we’ll be prepared, and the coaches have prepared us well to be prepared in this game.”

The 28-year-old has been on fire for Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side since joining this summer scoring three goals in his first five appearances for the club. His confidence, as such, is high.

“I think my confidence is always high, it doesn’t matter if I score or not, I try to work hard for the team. I’m happy now with this period of scoring, it makes me hungry for more,” he said.

“I set my targets really high, and I want to always play on the highest level that I can. It’s an amazing feeling, I was lucky to experience it last year, and I want it again and I want it with Rangers – I want to be successful and reach more and more.

“As a player and a person, I always go to the maximum, it doesn’t matter if it’s in training or in games … I just want to reach the maximum out of everything and to give my best every day. The coach gives me the trust and the minutes, I want to give him that trust back with my work on the pitch and goals.”

Čolak does have experience playing in the Champions League, featuring six times with Malmö FF but did not bag any goals or assists.
