Speaking following Les Canaris’ last-gasp win over Le Havre (0-1), Nantes manager Antoine Kombouaré spoke in the tradition post-match press conference, attended by Get French Football News. After Nantes secured a vital second win under his stewardship against fellow Ligue 1 strugglers Le Havre AC, the Frenchman was understandably pleased with his side’s work on Sunday afternoon – but warned “the job isn’t finished.”

Le Havre could have won the game, there’s no denying it. We managed to tilt luck in our favour, so I must congratulate the players,” said the manager of Les Canaris. “Over the course of the game, we pushed our limits, and managed to secure three points seemingly from thin-air, because honestly I would have settled for a 0-0 draw.”

“Of course, we’d prefer to play better,” said Kombouaré when asked about lining up with ‘combative’ players from the start of the game. “But if we keep playing like this and winning, I’ll sign up immediately.”

Since Nantes’ Coupe de France-winning manager re-took charge of Les Jaunes, his side have won two out of three matches to steer away from danger in the Ligue 1 table. “We’ve earned six points out of nine, giving ourselves a little breathing room — but the job is far from done; there are still points to be earned,” he warned.
