You might recall that one of the biggest will-he-won’t-he transfer sagas of last summer involved Antoine Griezmann and Barcelona.

It culminated just before the World Cup kicked off in Russia when Griezmann announced – via a cringeworthy documentary called ‘The Decision’ – that he had decided to snub the Catalan giants and stay at Atlético Madrid.

But fast forward nine months and reports indicate that the Frenchman is getting itchy feet again.

In fact, Mundo Deportivo report on Tuesday that Griezmann regrets turning Barça down and the striker’s representatives have even reached out to the head honchos at Camp Nou to apologise for the way his decision to reject them was handled last year.

Last weekend, French outlet L’Equipe reported that the 27-year-old has grown frustrated following Atlético’s elimination from the Champions League and would like to leave, with Barcelona being his preferred destination.

Paris Saint-Germain have also been linked with a swoop for the World Cup winner this week, but their interest will probably depend on whether Neymar and Kylian Mbappé stay in the French capital this summer.

Barça are believed to have moved on from Griezmann now but with Luis Suárez turning 32 earlier this season, the Spanish champions will almost certainly be in the market for a new forward when the transfer window reopens in July.

Mundo Deportivo say they are keeping tabs on Eintracht Frankfurt’s Luka Jović, Valencia’s Rodrigo Moreno, Celta’s Maxi Gómez and Sevilla’s André Silva.

But don’t be surprised to see those Griezmann rumours start gathering pace again in the coming weeks and months.
