Chelsea were left ruing refereeing decisions made by Anthony Taylor in their Premier League draw against Tottenham Hotspur at Stamford Bridge on Sunday evening.
The Blues were left furious that Pierre-Emile Højbjerg’s 68th minute equaliser was allowed to stand.
Rodrigo Bentancur was not penalised for a challenge on Kai Havertz in the build-up to the goal. An offside was also not given against Richarlison.
In the dying embers of the match, Taylor and VAR decided against punishing Cristian Romero for pulling Marc Cucurella’s hair at a set-piece.
Tottenham scored to snatch a point from the resulting corner.
Taylor then sent off both Antonio Conte and Thomas Tuchel following an altercation at the final whistle.
This is not the first time that Taylor has given controversial decisions against the Blues.
And Chelsea fans have well and truly had enough.
“Anthony Taylor has continued to make big decisions against Chelsea over the years in big matches. Taylor has an agenda against Chelsea and should not be allowed to referee a game involving the club again,” the petition reads.
It then lists eight decisions Taylor has made against Chelsea.
The petition has already received over 84,000 signatures, with Chelsea fans making their feelings about the 43-year-old clear.
Tuchel also suggested Taylor shouldn’t be allowed to officiate a Chelsea game again as he moaned about the decisions made in the match.
“Maybe that would be better [Taylor not officiating Chelsea games]. Tuchel said, per the Guardian.. “Maybe it would be better but we also have VAR to help make the right decisions.
“Since when can players be pulled by their hair? Since when is that? If he does not see it, I don’t blame him. I didn’t see it but we have people at VAR who check this and then you see it and then what?
“How can this not be a free-kick and how can it not be a red card? How? This does not even have to do with the referee in this case. If he does not see something that’s why we have people to check if there is a decisive error going on.
“And I cannot understand since when players can pull other people’s hair and stay on the pitch and attack in the last corner. This for me is without any explanation and I don’t want to accept it. I have no words for it. I am curious what the explanation is for that but both goals should not stand and then it’s a fair result. We were brilliant and we deserved to win.”
