According to L’Équipe, Olympique Lyonnais goalkeeper Anthony Lopes (33) is set to play his final game for the club tonight in their crucial match against Strasbourg. If Lyon are victorious in the match, they will confirm their place in European football next season.
The Lyon academy graduate’s contract is set to expire at the end of the season and the match against Strasbourg should be his last game for the club as they have decided not to extend the Portuguese international keeper’s contract. Signed in January, former Botafogo keeper Lucas Perri is set to be the club’s number one next season, L’Équipe reports.
With Lopes’ future all but confirmed to be away from Lyon next season, he will be able to discuss with clubs as a free agent. The 33-year-old’s contract status has attracted the interest of clubs in Saudi Arabia ahead of another transfer window where the Gulf State is expected to play a big part, according to Foot Mercato.
