Ansu Fati sends message of support to Barcelona star Ronald Araújo | OneFootball

On-loan Barcelona star Ansu Fati has today taken to social media, to send a message of support to Blaugrana defender Ronald Araújo.

The name of stopper Araújo has of course positioned itself front and centre in the headlines in Spain over the course of the last 24 hours.

Unfortunately for the 25-year-old, however, as much has come for altogether less than positive reasons.

En route to Barcelona’s exit from the Champions League, Araújo proved himself an unwanted protagonist.

With the Blaugrana in command of their quarter-final tie with Paris Saint-Germain, a goal to the good on the night and leading 4-2 on aggregate, the Uruguayan was shown a straight red card, for a last-man challenge on Bradley Barcola.

From here, the momentum completely shifted, PSG taking control on their way to a 4-1 rout in Catalunya’s capital.

In the aftermath of the clash, it has therefore come as little surprise to see Araújo singled out for heavy criticism, on the part of fans, pundits, and the media alike.

After taking to his official Instagram account to issue an apology to all associated with Barcelona on Wednesday, though, the former Boston River talent has received the backing of a former teammate at the Camp Nou.

Reposting a photo of Araújo on his own Instagram page, Ansu Fati – on loan at Brighton & Hove Albion from Barca – showed his support for the crestfallen central defender, as showcased below:
