Ansu Fati's new contract talks with Barcelona are stalling.

Contrary to previous reports, little progress has been made over a new contract for Fati, with his family surprised by the claims of a deal close to being settled.

Sport says Fati's agent, Jorge Mendes, touched down in Barcelona yesterday, but has held no meeting with club officials. Instead, he spent the evening at Fati's family home.

Indeed, there's an acceptance within both parties that talks over a new deal will run for several months.

For his part, Fati has made it clear to Mendes his priority remains staying with Barca.
