‘Another top-level talent’… Spanish NT coach praises 21-year-old Barcelona midfielder

No matter the era, FC Barcelona always looks forward to seeing its players on the international stage. Throughout the club’s history, many of the Catalan club’s icons have been heroes for their countries as well. Even today, that trend remains alive and well when it comes to Barcelona.
Players such as Raphinha, Lamine Yamal, Pedri, Robert Lewandowski, Frenkie de Jong, and Ronald Araujo alongside others are key players for their respective national teams. However, while these players are now seasoned veterans of sorts on the international stage, others are still yet to make a big impact.
Still, the primary way to make such an impact would be to first get noticed as well. Luckily for Barcelona midfielder Marc Casado, his performances at club level were strong enough for Spanish National team coach Luis de la Fuente to notice him and call him up for the upcoming UEFA Nations League games against the Netherlands.
Even during his press-conference, as highlighted by Mundo Deportivo, the Spanish National team coach complimented the young 21-year-old midfielder as he spoke about the quality of depth in his squad:
“We also have a player in the making, Marc Casadó, who is another top-level talent. Fortunately, this highlights the strength and health of Spanish football, with young talents who, when given the opportunity, will show their potential.”
While it remains to be seen if Casado can manage to get some minutes during the international break, considering that Martin Zubimendi will likely start ahead of him, there is always a chance for it to happen. However, any opportunity against a team like the Netherlands is a big deal.
Fortunately, there are plenty of Barcelona players in this Spain squad. Pedri will likely be a starter for the team, and Lamine Yamal is undoubtedly the Spanish National team’s crown jewel in attack. Even Dani Olmo is present, and he seems to be a key piece as well for the team.
For the Dutch side, on the other hand, Barcelona star Frenkie de Jong will be there as well. After some bothersome injury issues over the last few seasons, it seems as if it is finally time for the Dutchman to get a chance on the international stage as well considering his .
