Antonio Conte admits Tottenham Hotspur could make more signings this summer but on one condition

Antonio Conte has revealed that Tottenham Hotspur could make more signings during the current transfer window but only if a first-team player leaves.

Speaking in today’s press conference at Hotspur Way (h/t Football.London), the Italian manager admitted that the team is “ok” for now but if a player leaves for more playing time, then Spurs could be forced into action.

“I think that we are ok and if someone go away then for sure another player has to come, especially if some player wants to go and play regularly and it’s difficult to keep them here.”

A number of players have been linked with a move away from N17 this summer. Tanguy Ndombele could join Giovani Lo Celso in leaving the club on loan, while the futures of Harry Winks and Sergio Reguilon are also up in the air.

Meanwhile, the club has signed seven players this summer. Ivan Perisic and Fraser Forster were the first ones to join the team earlier this summer on free transfers.

Richarlison, Yves Bissouma, Clement Lenglet (on loan from FC Barcelona), and Djed Spence were next in line to join. And the club recently revealed 19-year-old Italian left-back Destiny Udogie as their seventh signing this summer.

However, he is headed back to Udine in order to complete a season-long loan move. If the club is to sign more players, perhaps fans would want it to be in midfield.

We can use some depth in that area. Emerson Royal divided opinions before the start of the season but the Brazilian full-back has done a good job so far this campaign, so it remains to be seen if the club will bring in another player in that position.
