Key Bayern Munich midfielder Joshua Kimmich was forced off with an injury during Germany's 7-0 win over Bosnia and Herzegovina on Saturday evening.
With several key players already sidelined, Bayern Munich received another injury scare on Saturday as Joshua Kimmich was forced to come off during Germany's clash against Bosnia and Herzegovina in the UEFA Nations League. This comes just days after João Palhinha picked up an adductor injury that is set to rule him out for the next few weeks.
Despite the scare, Kimmich was in good spirits after the game as he confidently gave himself the all-clear and said that his substitution was a mere precautionary measure. "It was a precautionary measure. If it hadn't been 6-0, I wouldn't have come off. I want to play again in Hungary."
Julian Nagelsmann offered a more measured assessment and said that they will wait and see before making a decision on whether the Germany captain can play against Hungary on Tuesday. "No injury! Josh is a bit sore with the capsule, but hopefully it's nothing dramatic. According to the doctor, he was a bit lucky. He wanted to continue playing, he has a bit of damage to the capsule. With injuries like that, you have to wait and see what it looks like in the next days."
Joshua Kimmich is undoubtedly one of Bayern Munich's most important players, and has played every minute for Vincent Kompany's side so far this season. With Palhinha and Aleksandar Pavlović both sidelined, the hope at Bayern will certainly be that Kimmich's injury is not a serious one.
Bayern Munich have a number of key games coming up after the international break, as they are all set to face Paris Saint-Germain, Borussia Dortmund, and Bayer Leverkusen.
