La Liga giants Barcelona have this weekend announced a setback on the injury front in the club’s reserve team ranks.

This comes amid confirmation that youngster Quim Junyent is set for an incoming spell on the treatment table.

Junyent, for those not familiar with his name, is an 18-year-old midfielder, who is currently plying his trade with Barca Atlètic.

The Spaniard is held in high regard behind the scenes in Catalunya’s capital, widely considered a potential future first-team star in the making.

In turn, it no doubt came as a blow for club and player alike to learn of Junyent picking up a setback on the fitness front.

As per a statement across Barca Atlètic’s social media platforms on Sunday:

‘The Barça Atlètic player Quim Junyent has inflammation of the pubic musculature. He is out and the expected recovery time will be about four weeks.’

Junyent joins the likes of Ibrahim Diarra, Roger Martínez, Landry Farré and Dani Rodríguez on the sidelines, amid what is fast becoming something of an early-season injury crisis for Barcelona’s reserve team.
