La Liga president Javier Tebas has once again taken a firm stance against Barcelona. His comments regarding the Catalan team have raised concerns about the club’s financial situation and their handling of player registrations.
Tebas did not hold back when discussing the Blaugrana, making it clear that he believes Dani Olmo “should not end the league with Barça”.
He pointed out that Barcelona left it too late to address their financial struggles and tried to fix everything at the last minute, which ultimately led to complications.
According to him, Olmo was fully aware of the risks involved when signing for the club, as there was always a possibility that he might not be eligible to play beyond December.
He also questioned the financial reliability of the company that contributed funds through the VIP box payments, adding that the matter had to be resolved by the Spanish sports authorities within just 24 hours.
“In August I expected Barcelona to solve his problems, but in the last three days they wanted to solve everything in a hurry and they could not.

“Olmo signed knowing that he might not play after December. The company that paid (the VIP boxes) did not seem solvent, everything went to the CSD and in 24 hours it was solved. Olmo should not finish LaLiga with Barça,” he added.
Beyond Olmo’s case, Tebas also highlighted the bigger picture concerning Barcelona’s economic struggles.
He stressed that the club should be deeply concerned about their financial health, given the significant losses they have suffered in recent years.
“Barça has to be concerned and busy with their economic situation. They are coming from terrible losses and that has to be recovered.
While Barcelona have made efforts to stabilise their finances, some of their decisions, such as the attempted sale of Barça Studios, have not gone according to plan.
“They have also had operations that have not worked out, such as the sale of Barça Studios. All teams have their worries,” he added.
