Anonymous Chelsea sources have come out to reveal the planning behind the club’s new signings this summer transfer window.

It comes off the back of Chelsea and Ajax finally agreeing a fee for Jorrel Hato to join the club this summer, something that has now been reported by multiple outlets last night.

As well as Hato, we know the club are still trying to sign more players adding to the players they have already signed this summer, especially in attack.

Xavi Simons is obviously the next one Chelsea are trying to sign, with the latest update on that coming yesterday from Fabrizio Romano, and it sounds positive still.

Chelsea wanting competition

I mean, its obvious really. Chelsea need more competition and squad depth going into next season now they are back in the Champions League and have many more games to play.

It’s a long and grueling season as it is and now Chelsea will be back playing in club football’s most prestigious competition.

Athletic sources

The Athletic are reporting that Chelsea sources, kept anonymous to protect relationships, have told them that Chelsea want to give Enzo Maresca the ability to rotate across all positions as he balances Premier League, Champions League and domestic cup commitments this season.

The focus has been a lot on the attack, but Hato comes in to help Marc Cucurella at left back and challenge for his position.

Cucurella will obviously be the main stater in that position but he will now finally have a solid and natural rotation option for Maresca to use.
