Joe Hart is set to make his debut for Tottenham Hotspur as he has been named in the starting XI for the club’s UEFA Europa League third round qualifiers against FK Shkendija.
The veteran goalkeeper arrived at the club this summer, on a free transfer, after having been released by Burnley in July. Having played second-fiddle to first-choice shot-stopper and club captain Hugo Lloris in the first three matches of the season, the former Manchester City ace has been given the nod by Jose Mourinho in North Macedonia.
Hart’s career has been on a downward trail ever since he left Manchester City. So, naturally Not all fans were pleased to see the England international start, however, given the crucial nature of the fixture. They’d have rather had Lloris in goal for the game.
There were some who weren’t pleased to see Hart become the No.2 usurping Paulo Gazzaniga, who had been Lloris’ understudy for the past few years. Here’s how some fans reacted to the news.
A win on tonight will see Tottenham qualify for the playoffs scheduled to take place on October 1. Hopefully, Hart will mark his debut in the Spurs’ goal with a solid performance.
