Despite a lacklustre start to their Apertura campaign, Ángel Zaldívar insists Chivas are still aiming to secure automatic qualification to the play-offs.
The top four teams at the end of the regular season move directly into the quarter-finals, while the teams from fifth through 12th must battle through a qualifying Repechage round to make the Liguilla.
With just nine points taken from their opening seven games, the Flock are a long way off the pace down in 11th spot.
But that hasn’t moved the goalposts as far as Zaldívar is concerned.
“The main objective is to qualify in the first four places,” the striker told MARCA Claro MVS.
“This fanbase deserves titles, and you have to give them to them.”
Los Rojiblancos return to action after the international break with a trip to face Pumas on Sunday.
The hosts will also be under pressure to get a result, as they currently languish 15th in the table with just five points to their credit.
